By streamlining the process, we eliminate the confusion often associated with finding the right help.

Awareness and Educational Resources

We have curated a comprehensive database of information related to mental health and substance misuse solutions. Whether it's information on treatment options, support groups, or helplines, our database provides easy access to valuable resources. Our team is also available to answer any questions you may have and provide further clarification. We also offer in-person mental health educational events and anti-stigma campaigns.

Stigma

Fear of stigma and judgment were among the top reasons cited for not seeking help. Stigma can be particularly pronounced in certain populations, such as racial and ethnic minorities, LGBTQ+ individuals, and men. These groups may face additional barriers due to cultural expectations, discrimination, or a lack of culturally competent care. Lastly, stigma also affects mental health professionals themselves. Some professionals may hesitate to seek help for their own mental health concerns due to concerns about professional repercussions or stigma within the healthcare community. Our team, aligns with our clients, but operates independently, allowing members and employees to confidentially and confidentially reach out for help.

Stigma can lead to fear, shame, and discrimination, causing individuals to avoid seeking the care they need. For example, a survey by the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) in the United States found that 40% of adults with a mental health condition did not seek treatment.

Why Add Hope Desk When We Already Have an Employee Assistance Program?

The exact number of people who do not seek mental health care due to STIGMA is challenging to determine precisely. However, research and surveys consistently show that stigma remains a significant barrier to seeking help for mental health issues.

Many professionals will not seek help from an employer because of the fear of exposure or other repercussions at work. Hope Desk gives employees another pathway to access mental health care. It does not compete with any existing EAPs but rather compliments it, and increases the likelihood an employee will utilize their EAP.
